There’s a special exhibition of costumes designed by award-winning designer Marion Boyce at The Old Government House in New South Wales. If you’re a fan of the Kerry Greenwood’s Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher mystery series you’ll wish you could see the costumes worn in the television series set in the 1920s.

Brothers Daniel Palmer and Matthew Palmer will be at The Poisoned Pen on Wednesday, May 25 at 7 PM. After their father’s death, Daniel, already an author, was asked to write medical thrillers in the tradition of his father, Michael. The first book is Mercy.

Matthew Palmer will be signing The Wolf of Sarajevo.

The Lessing J. Rosenwald Collection is part of the Rare Book and Special Collections Division of the Library of Congress. There’s a brief summary of the collection here – https://www.loc.gov/rr/rarebook/coll/211.html

Illustrated books are the central theme of the collection that contains “books from the last six centuries and manuscripts from the three preceding”.

Below is one of the illustrated books in the collection.

The second photo is the Kelmscott Chaucer, considered one of the beautiful books ever created.

Both books are part of the Rosenwald Collection in the Library of Congress.
